Spring Sports Schedules

Boys and Girls Tennis 2018

The insurance form MUST be completed and turned in to the gym by Tuesday, March 27th in order to be allowed to stay after school and participate.

Schedule for TRYOUTS: (Meet in the gym)

Girls – Tues 3/27, Mon 4/2 and Wed 4/4

Boys – Wed 3/28, Tues 4/3 and Mon 4/9

During tryouts, you will stay after school and play in intramural games/practices against other students in the school. THESE ARE YOUR TRYOUTS, AND YOU ARE EXPECTED TO BE PRESENT EACH DAY IF YOU EXPECT TO MAKE THE TEAM!!

You will need to bring shorts, tennis shoes, t shirt, and water bottle EVERY DAY!!!! Please bring a tennis racquet if you have one.

Tryouts take place from 4:00-5:20pm, Parents may pick you up in front of the school at 5:30pm, or there is an activities bus that will take you from school and drop you off at the nearest school/library closest to your house. (See back for stops.)

YOU MUST PARTICIPATE AND BE AT ALL OF THE TRYOUT DAYS IF YOU ARE EXPECTING TO MAKE THE TEAM!!

Coed Golf 2018

INSURANCE FORM NEEDS TO BE FILLED OUT AND TURNED INTO THE GYM EARLY, OR BROUGHT WITH YOU TO THE FIRST PRACTICE ON Monday, March 26th OR YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO STAY AFTER!!

You will need to bring GOLF ATTIRE (golf clubs, shoes, shorts, collared shirt and water bottle) EVERYDAY!!!!

On Monday, March 26th and Tuesday March 27th you will stay after school. THESE ARE YOUR TRYOUTS, YOU ARE EXPECTED TO BE PRESENT EACH DAY IF YOU EXPECT TO MAKE THE TEAM!! Tryouts will take place from 4:00-5:30pm at Mariner Middle School. Parents must pick you up in front of the school at 5:30pm. Students may drop their golf clubs off in the front office before school begins.

If you make the golf team parents will have to pick their children up at the golf course where our practice or match is scheduled. As of now all of our practices and matches are scheduled to take place at El Rio Golf Course, however, changes are possible. Practice will typically end at 5:45 and matches at 6:00pm. Parents must be at the course to pick their student up. The address is: 1801 Skyline Dr, North Fort Myers, FL 33903

Here is the tentative schedule for intramurals and the extramural travel team. Your coach will give you an updated schedule once the team has been selected.

2018 Track and Field

The insurance form MUST be completed and turned in TO THE GYM before the first practice in order to be allowed to stay after school and participate. If you have participated in any other sport this year you are cleared.

Practices for BOTH boys and girls will begin February 12nd and will run from 4:00-5:15. Grade levels will have practice on different days so please make sure you are there on the right day. Students need to be picked up at 5:15 PM OR may take the activities bus that will drop them off at the nearest school/library to their home. See the back of this paper for bus stops.

*** YOU ARE EXPECTED TO BE AT EVERY GRADE LEVEL PRACTICE READY TO PARTICIPATE WITH PROPER ATTIRE (SHORTS, T-SHIRT, RUNNING SHOES, AND A BOTTLE OF WATER). NO TRACK SPIKES ARE ALLOWED!!! IF YOU MISS A PRACTICE WITHOUT NOTIFYING A COACH PRIOR, YOU MAY BE BUMPED FROM AN EVENT!! ***

The following events are field events. If you are trying out for these events you will practice every day.

The Following events are track (running) events. If you are trying out for these events you will practice only on your grade level day.

  1. 100 meter
  2. 200 meter
  3. 400 meter
  4. 800 meter
  5. 1600 meter
  6. 4x100 meter relay
  7. 4x400 meter relay

**** YOU WILL ONLY BE COMPETING AGAINST OTHER STUDENTS IN YOUR GRADE LEVEL!! 6th grade vs 6th grade, 7th vs. 7th, 8th vs 8th!!!!

IF YOU HAVE NOT TRIED OUT FOR A SPORT THIS YEAR, AN INSURANCE FORM NEEDS TO BE FILLED OUT AND TURNED INTO THE GYM BEFORE THE FIRST PRACTICE!!!!!

**There is an admission fee at all meets for spectators:

$1 students and $3 adults

Top 4 runners and top 2 relay teams at the Regional Meet will qualify for County Finals to be held at Fort Myers High School on the following dates:

Boys: Wednesday, April 4 @ 6 pm

Girls: Thursday, April 5 @ 6 pm

Regional Track/Field meet

March 13, 2018 @ ISLAND COAST HIGH 5:30-?

-Students are to report to the gym, the bus will arrive around 4:30

- Entrance fee is $3 for adults, $1 for students

- There will be an activity bus after the meet, or parents are welcome to take their students with them

- Field events will take place at the SAME TIME as track events!! A call will be made for all field athletes to CHECK IN at their event at which point ALL field athletes will need to report to their events, however you will have the remainder of the meet to go back and participate in those events!!!

- The order of track events is as follows, boys will run first followed by the girls:

100 meter dash

1600 meter run

4x100 meter relay

400 meter run

800 meter run

200 meter dash

4x400 meter relay

-The top 4 TIMES in each of these events (top 2 for 4x400) will move onto the county finals, you will be notified when we have results when to come back for practice

- THERE IS MORE THAN 1 HEAT PER EVENT, SO YOUR PLACE IS BASED ON TIME, NOT WHERE YOU FINISHED IN YOUR SPECIFIC HEAT!!!! THIS MEANS YOU NEED TO RUN ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE FINISH LINE!!!

- Students are required to stay with the team/coaches when they are not participating in an event. You MAY NOT go sit with other teams or your parents. You must ask to use restroom or leave our area for ANY REASON

- Students are responsible for listening for their events and reporting to the field to check in when called

- PARENTS: If you are willing to donate food/drinks for the meet please send them with your students to school on Tuesday. Thanks for your support!!!!
