School Advisory Council (SAC)

The Mariner Middle School Advisory Council (SAC) advises the Principal on the regular operation of the school, assists in the preparation and evaluation of the school improvement plan, and assists in the preparation of the school’s annual budget and plan. The SAC also manages a budget to be used for implementing the school improvement plan.

By statute, the SAC is composed of the principal and a balanced number of elected teachers, educational supports employees, students, and parents.  Additionally, appointed business and community people may serve on the SAC. Taken together, these members must represent the ethnic, racial, and economic community served by the school.
