Mariner Middle School

The goal of the MMS Before School Program is to provide an alternate environment for the children of working parents.

Hours of Operation:

Before School Program will be held on each day that school is in session from 7:35 am to 9:35 am. Please DO NOT drop your child(ren) off before 7:35 am.

Enrollment forms can be picked up in the front office and must be filled out prior to attending the Before School Program. There is a non-refundable fee of $20.00 for the first child attending the program and $15 for the subsequent child(ren). This must be paid before your child may attend.

Payment for the program is due on a weekly basis and per Florida Statute must be received in advance. Please make checks payable to Mariner Middle School and a note on the check with your child’s first and last name and the week for which you are paying. If paying by cash please have the exact amount. Non-payment of fees will result in dismissal from the program. Please pay promptly.

Insufficient funds on returned checks are subject to a $25 service fee. The amount of the returned check, plus the $25 service fee must be paid in cash to Mariner Middle School. Further payments for the Before School Program will not be accepted until receipt of payment is provided to the Program Director. Upon return of a second check, all program fees must be paid in cash for the remainder of the school year.

Fees for the Before School Program are as follows:

• $20 Registration fee for a first child attending
• $15 registration fee for the subsequent child(ren)
• A daily fee of $5

**Payments must be made in advance**

To reduce discipline problems, the Mariner Middle School Before School Program places great emphasis on positive relationships between students, staff, and parents. Children and parents should be aware of the following discipline policy:

             1st Offense: Verbal warning, the child will be reminded of the rule broken.

             2nd Offense: The child will sit out and lose 5-10 minutes of social time.

             3rd Offense: The child will sit out and lose 10-20 minutes of social time, a phone call home.

             4th Offense: The child will be taken to administration.
Continuous and/or major offenses may result in a temporary or permanent suspension from the Before School Program.

Students enrolled in the Before School Program must adhere to the school’s dress code policy and be ready for the school day. Masks must be worn at all times and students must remain socially distant. Students who want breakfast will eat it in the cafeteria during the program.

The school’s clinic does not open until 9:15 so all medications must be administered at home.
